This is my second Character introduction article where I share some of the most important details about protagonists in my upcoming novel Royal wars: Invasion. After introducing king Anar to you, now you’ll meet one of his best friends, Adrian.

Adrian is a man in his forties, a very skillful fighter, able to excellently handle almost every known weapon. Different types of swords, bows, axes, spears, daggers — knowing how to handle these weapons earned him money as he’d been helping other to improve their skills, but his life changed when he met Anar and Ciandra (the next article will be about her). How did that happen? Let’s talk about it.

I assume you already read the article about Anar and you’re familiar with some parts of his story. If you’re not, make sure to read it if some information from this article sounds strange. When Anar and Ciandra, along with a lot of others, joined the first heroic expedition, with the goal to destroy an armed group led by powerful demon sorcerer, Adrian was caught in a dangerous territory. The sorcerer and his group were close to a home where he was spending his time teaching a young noble. His job stopped there. People were fleeing the area, running south and he went with them. Although he was a good fighter, he knew that he wouldn’t be able to harm those aggressive forces alone. He traveled with a caravan and just when everyone thought they’ve been out of enemy’s reach, bandits intercepted them, killed many people and took the supplies. Adrian hid below rags and clothes. He survived the encounter, but felt like a coward.

Soon after the bandits left, Adrian heard another visitors. This time, their voices were low and their horses calm. They looked like they weren’t enemies and that soon turned out as true. Those people were Anar and others. When Adrian told them who he was and what had happened to the caravan and all the people, members of expedition gave him a blaming stare. He knew why. He was a fighter, but he let the bandits slaughter the weak and innocent. However, Anar showed the compassion and openly said that confrontation would probably mean death in such situation. He gave Adrian an idea to lift the spirit and prove that he wasn’t a coward. The idea was to fight the sorcerer and his warriors. In other words, to become a member of expedition.

That’s where their friendship started. Ciandra shared Anar’s point of view and soon she and Adrian formed a very strong friendship which will only grow in the next few years, especially during the other two expeditions in which they both took a part.

After Anar became a king, Adrian followed him to the kingdom’s capital where he found a lot of work. Ciandra soon received Anar’s gift, a huge and beautiful vineyard where she’s been spending most of her time. Occasionally she had to leave in order to arrange new jobs and Adrian was always going with her.

Some of his friends suggested him to marry the young archer, but he and Ciandra were friends. A very good friends and he didn’t want to ruin such a beautiful relationship. He was happy, but something was telling him that his happiness won’t last for long. It proved to be true when the barbarian invasion started. However, in every evil there’s a bit of good. He and Ciandra accepted their duty and traveled together in order to help and contribute to the defense of the continent. Will it be enough? The book will tell.

In the next article, you’ll meet Ciandra, although you already know something about her. I hope these information helped you to get a clearer picture of what you can expect from the novel. It’s a big story and I’m doing my best to prepare you in the right way for that adventure. Tell me how you like this article and what information about the book setting you would like me to share with you.

Until then, stay well and positive.
